I recently discovered my grandma’s recipe for Strawberry Pretzel Salad, and it has quickly become a favorite in my household. 

This dessert is the perfect combination of sweet and salty, with a creamy filling, a crunchy pretzel crust, and a layer of strawberries on top. It’s a crowd-pleaser that’s sure to impress at any gathering.

Grandma’s Strawberry Pretzel Salad

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping
  • 2 (3 oz) packages strawberry Jell-O
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 (10 oz) packages frozen strawberries, thawed


1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

2. In a bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar. Mix well and press into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes and then let cool.

3. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar together until smooth. Fold in half of the whipped topping and spread on the cooled pretzel crust.

4. In another bowl, dissolve the strawberry Jell-O in the boiling water. Add the thawed strawberries and stir well.

5. Pour the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer. Top with the other half of the whipped topping and chill for at least 4 hours or until set.
