The internet has gone wild over super simple recipes lately. I kept seeing these two-ingredient concoctions all over my social feeds and couldn’t believe they actually worked.
So I rolled up my sleeves and tested them myself to see if they lived up to the hype.
1. Banana Pancakes

Mash one ripe banana and mix with two eggs. That’s it! The banana adds natural sweetness while eggs provide structure.
Heat a non-stick pan and pour small circles of batter. Flip when bubbles form. These pancakes taste amazing with a drizzle of honey on top.
2. Peanut Butter Cookies

Mix one cup of peanut butter with one cup of sugar until smooth. Roll into small balls and press with a fork to create that classic cookie pattern.
Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes. They’ll be soft when hot but firm up as they cool. The texture is surprisingly perfect!
3. Yogurt Flatbread

Combine equal parts self-rising flour and Greek yogurt in a bowl. Knead until smooth, then divide and roll into thin circles.
Cook in a hot dry pan for 2 minutes each side. They puff up beautifully! Perfect for wraps, dipping, or as a quick pizza base.
4. Ice Cream Bread

Let one pint of ice cream soften, then stir in 1½ cups self-rising flour. The flavor of ice cream you choose determines the taste of your bread!
Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes. Strawberry ice cream makes a pretty pink loaf kids love.
5. Nutella Brownies

Whisk 4 eggs until frothy, then blend in one cup of Nutella. The air in the eggs gives these brownies their texture without any flour.
Bake in a lined 8-inch pan at 350°F for 30 minutes. They’re fudgy in the middle with a crackly top. Cut into squares after cooling completely.
6. Watermelon Sorbet

Freeze cubed watermelon until solid. Blend the frozen cubes with a squeeze of lime juice until smooth and creamy.
Serve immediately for a slushy treat or freeze again for firmer sorbet. No added sugar needed! The natural sweetness of ripe watermelon makes this refreshingly perfect.
7. Oreo Truffles

Crush one package of Oreos into fine crumbs. Mix thoroughly with one block of softened cream cheese until it forms a sticky dough.
Roll into bite-sized balls and chill. They’re amazing plain but can be dipped in melted chocolate for extra fanciness. Store in the fridge for up to a week.
8. Lemon Cloud Cake

Empty one box of angel food cake mix into a bowl. Add one can of lemon pie filling and stir until combined. Don’t overmix!
Pour into an ungreased tube pan. Bake according to cake mix directions. The result is a fluffy, tangy cake that tastes like it took hours to make.
9. Coconut Macaroons

Mix one 14-ounce bag of sweetened coconut flakes with one can of sweetened condensed milk. The milk binds everything together without eggs.
Drop spoonfuls onto a lined baking sheet. Bake at 325°F for 15 minutes until golden. They’re chewy inside with crispy edges. So simple yet so good!
10. Pumpkin Muffins

Stir together one box of spice cake mix and one 15-ounce can of pumpkin puree. The mixture looks thick and a bit strange at first, but keep mixing!
Spoon into muffin cups and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes. They come out moist and full of fall flavor. No eggs or oil needed at all.
11. Cherry Dump Cake

Pour two cans of cherry pie filling into a baking dish. Sprinkle one box of dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cherries.
Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes until golden and bubbly. The cake mix creates a buttery crust on top of the warm fruit. Amazing with vanilla ice cream!
12. Bagels From Scratch

Combine equal parts self-rising flour and Greek yogurt to form a dough. Knead until smooth, then shape into balls with holes in the center.
Brush with beaten egg and add toppings if desired. Bake at 375°F for 20 minutes. They have that classic chewy bagel texture without any yeast or boiling!
13. Chocolate Mousse

Melt chocolate chips in the microwave. Fold in equal parts cold heavy cream that’s been whipped to soft peaks.
The warm chocolate and cold cream create the perfect mousse texture. Chill for 2 hours before serving. Garnish with berries for a fancy touch that makes everyone think you spent hours in the kitchen.
14. Soda Cake

Empty one box of cake mix into a bowl. Add one 12-ounce can of soda and stir until smooth. Different sodas create different flavors!
Bake according to cake mix instructions. Try chocolate cake with cherry cola or lemon cake with sprite. The carbonation makes the cake rise without eggs or oil.
15. Palmiers (Elephant Ears)

Sprinkle sugar on a flat surface. Unroll store-bought puff pastry onto the sugar and sprinkle more sugar on top.
Fold edges toward center, then fold again and slice. Bake at 400°F for 12 minutes. They caramelize beautifully!
