These crispy, gooey fried cheese bites are the ultimate snack that combines all the cheesy goodness you crave into a perfectly golden bite that’s impossible to resist.

  • 10 oz mozzarella string cheese (or 10 sticks)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup Italian bread crumbs

Instructions

1. Prep the Cheese: Grab a cutting board and slice your string cheese sticks into bite-sized pieces.

2. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs until well beaten. Add the milk and whisk again until smooth. Set aside.

3. Set Up the Coating Station: Line up three bowls: one with flour, the second with the egg-milk mixture, and the third with bread crumbs.

4. Coat the Cheese Bites: Take a piece of cheese and coat it in the flour first, then dip it in the egg mixture, and finally roll it in the bread crumbs.

Repeat until all cheese pieces are coated and place them on a plate.

5. Heat the Oil: Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until it reaches 350°F. Test by dipping a wooden spoon handle in the oil; if bubbles form, it’s ready.

6. Fry the Cheese Bites: Carefully add 5-7 pieces of cheese into the hot oil, frying them for about 30 seconds or until golden brown. Keep the pieces separate to avoid sticking.

7. Drain the Excess Oil: Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried cheese bites to a plate lined with a paper towel to drain.

8. Repeat the Frying Process: Continue frying in batches until all the cheese bites are golden brown and crispy.
